In one sentence, it is the righteous and perfect creator God sending His one and only Son to die on the cross to pay the debt that we owed so that in Him there is now no condemnation. For those who believe in Him, there is life, hope, and joy eternal in Him alone. <img width="5184" height="3456" width_o="5184" height_o="3456" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/25755f39bc74145c3415fb9cbb2546d2e1948f41ea74c67fcd209080d41b3f1c/thanti-riess-U_b-eSviHvs-unsplash.jpg" data-mid="142820831" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/25755f39bc74145c3415fb9cbb2546d2e1948f41ea74c67fcd209080d41b3f1c/thanti-riess-U_b-eSviHvs-unsplash.jpg" /> If we are honest with ourselves, we know that we’ve messed up in our lives plenty of times: we’ve hurt the people around us, we’ve been selfish, we’ve lied, we’ve cheated, and the list goes on. We are sinners and that’s the testimony of our own lives. The Bible states that God will judge every person according to His own holy and perfect law, and I guarantee you, if you were to sit and watch a recording of your entire life there would be plenty of moments you would not want to watch and see that your life is so far from perfect. The scriptures teach that because of what we have done, we are found guilty: we have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and that before Him we have no excuse. Since God is just and righteous, meaning that He does all things in a right manner, He cannot let sin be unpunished and the punishment for sin is eternal wrath. If we stopped there then really, we’d all be damned right? We’re all in serious trouble. But that is not the end of the story. It is at this point, in this reality that we by ourselves are absolutely unable to save ourselves that God shows the riches of His grace, mercy, and love for humanity. The Bible teaches that for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son Jesus to die for us on the cross and pay for us the debt that was owed. See God’s justice! He does not leave sin unpunished but rather, His Son steps in our place and dies the death that we deserved! And yet, the story doesn’t end there either! Jesus dies on the cross, is buried, and three days later, He resurrects showing His total and perfect victory over sin and death. The Bible says that whoever should turn to Him and repent from their sins and place their faith in Jesus shall be saved. Jesus invites all who would to trade their weight of sin to come to Him: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Salvation is a completely free gift of God to those who would accept it. There are no amount of good works that will warrant your salvation save your coming to Him. We plead to you, turn to Christ today for there is no knowing of when He will return. Our desire is to see a unified, common love for Christ that is visible to the world – especially the University of Waterloo, our immediate local context. According to the Bible, the world will know that we are Christians by our love (John 13:35), a love that is made visible in the way that we speak, act, and think (Matthew 5:16). This will be visible to the world and will change the loves of those who see it: either as an aroma of life unto life or death unto death (2 Corinthians 2:16). EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FALL 2026 The executive committee exists to guide the fellowship to fulfill its purpose in loving Christ as a campus fellowship. When people refer to CCF, the Friday Night fellowship is what most people are usually referring to. We gather on Fridays to worship God, read and study the scriptures together, pray for one another, and spur each other on in our faith as a large group. We meet on Fridays at 7:00pm in RCH 101/201. If you have any questions, reach out to Charles Zhang or Rocky Choo. FRIDAY NIGHT GROUPS Small Groups (SG) Small Groups are where we do many of the activities during the Friday Night programs. We start every program together as a large group and then split into small groups for certain activities. Everyone who comes to CCF is put into a small group for the entirety of the term. Inside our SGs we study the word of God together, hold each other accountable, and grow in community with each other. SGs remain consistent over the course of each term dependent on attendance. ACCOUNTABILITY AND DISCIPLESHIP Discipleship Groups (DG) Discipleship Groups are groups of 4-6 people of the same gender that meet outside of the regular CCF Friday programs for times of accountability and discipleship. This is the space for sharing about the most challenging things in our lives and for a group of brothers or sisters to walk with you consistently throughout the term. FIRST YEAR CELL GROUP Frosh Cell Frosh Cell is specifically for first year students entering into the University of Waterloo. It is a ministry where frosh can meet others in their year, be integrated into CCF, but most importantly, be challenged together to take their faith seriously. Frosh Cell runs almost as a mini-fellowship within the CCF with bible studies and programs held once a week. Our hope is that those who attend Frosh Cell would also find CCF as their fellowship home. Please note that Frosh Cell runs only during Fall and Winter Terms. If you have any questions, reach out to Makis Lam or Daniel Ching. CALLING TO GOD TOGETHER Prayer Meetings At UWCCF we believe in the power in prayer and in God’s calling for us to be a people of prayer. As a leadership, we are regularly in prayer for all the events and people of CCF. With that being said, come join us for our prayer meetings on Thursdays and Sundays. PROCLAIM IT TO THE NATIONS Campus Evangelism We believe that we are called to be people that proclaim the Gospel to all peoples including people whom we might not know. There are tens of thousands of people whom we pass by on our campus that need Jesus.&nbsp; We encourage everyone to join in the Kingdom work in sharing the gospel to those on our campus.
